Introducing Dax Kruczkowska: Growing Synnovate’s Sustainability Offerings

Give us a short background on yourself (Career snapshot to date)?

After graduating from an elite Polish university with a master’s degree in political science and marketing, I started my career in charity, running CSR programs. I felt very strongly that my purpose was to help make the world a better place and really enjoyed inspiring big corporates to give back to the community.

I transitioned into the corporate world after seven years and thrived on the change. A fast-paced environment suits me, so I took on new challenges, like running the CTS Sustainability desk at SGS. My highlights were contracting for the Big Four on the very first GRI Frameworks and building sustainability communications for M&S, Tesco, and Provident.

In 2014 I moved to the UK and started an exciting challenge: commercial recruitment. This led to me finding my passion for people and my love for sustainability. After seven years of success and soaking up knowledge in sustainability recruitment, I’ve taken the plunge to start my own sustainability recruitment consultancy.

LevelUP Sustainability Recruitment helps clients hire with unmatched expertise in sustainability and commercial recruitment. My favourite thing in the world is to connect businesses with incredible people and watch them thrive.

What attracted you to partner with Synnovate & what excites you most about the opportunity to partner together?

Synergy is incredibly powerful in business. I met Jon and Seb via a mutual network and it was clear from the start that we have strong synergy. We connected over a desire to create value-driven services and recruit based on people, not numbers.

The fusion between technology and sustainability has created a very interesting market because there is always a need for innovation in both. Today’s tech takes a lot of resources to run, but it can unlock amazing new solutions to sustainability problems.

Synnovate have this on lockdown – they are all about creating a harmonious marriage between tech and green initiatives by delivering solutions and people who make that happen to their clients. It’s synergy in action.

What’s your role within Synnovate and externally?

My focus is supporting the growth of Synnovate’s Green Tech and Sustainability division. I ensure we are scaling up and getting the right message across. I own a sustainability recruitment consultancy that aligns in perfect harmony with Synnovate’s business goals. I’m excited to bring my expertise in recruiting for ESG and Compliance, Technical Sustainability, Corporate Affairs and Communication, and Social Value around EMEA and APAC to Synnovate.

Based on your expertise and experience, how do you feel you can best help Synnovate’s customers?

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the driving force behind a lot of the choices people make, from consumers to global initiatives. It informs corporate strategies.

Behind every technical solution are human beings who support different operations. Companies now recognise how much of a positive impact the right sustainability initiatives, and therefore the right sustainability people, can have on their businesses. Finding the best talent is crucial, which is where I come in.

My extensive experience in sustainability recruitment blended with my passion for people enables me to get right to the core of a candidate’s psychological profile and ensure they’re the best match for my clients. In fact, this is the ethos behind my business: LevelUp!

The Level Up & Synnovate Collaboration sounds exciting – can you give an overview of how that works?

LevelUP knows sustainability and Synnovate knows tech, so together, we form the synergy I keep banging on about! We ensure our customers can benefit from both our offerings by cross-selling our capacities.

Jon and Seb might be well-suited to work with LevelUP clients who need typical IT Recruitment or Consultancy, for example. Together we form a great partnership to support customers across both Sustainability and Technology.
